Would you ever see a theatrical run of these edits? Of course not.
Keep in mind, I've already set a precedent for monstrous 4.5 hour film cuts with the very successful releases of the ROTS cut and Episode IV/Rogue One supercuts. The goal of these edits was more experimental, seeing if the show’s arcs would work as long form films. After puting them together and showing them to a smaller test audience, we feel that the show works surprisingly well in this format. I originally had no intention of making these, but I've been told that no one had even attempted to put Season 2 into a single film cut, or if they had, it was not widely available. Why would I watch these? Isn't it just like watching the Mandalorian Episodes on D+?
Future edits for Seasons 3, Book of Boba are certainly possible, but frankly Seasons 1and 2 on their own work so well as a coherent contained Star Wars story that I felt okay with doing these even before the show has finished. The Book of Boba Fett Post Credits scene is also still intact, but the "December2021 title card has been removed as leaving that date in the cut after 2021 ends would break some of the immersion. The edits don't remove any scenes and there aren't truly any deleted content for me to restore like my other edits, but they function similarly to the Clone Wars/Rebels edits where the goal was to turn the show's arcs into feature films. The original audio tracks are preserved as they are wherever possible, with the exception of the Credits, which I have recut into 7 minute versions using new appropriate Mandalorian Themed Remixes of the show's themes (and more). The episodes are bridged with numerous classic Lucas wipe techniques similar to what I've used in my film edits before.
The only content removed from the episodes are the recaps and titles. The former has a run time of 4 hours and 37 minutes, the latter runs 4 hours and 47 minutes. There are 2 edits, one for Season 1 and 2 each. What Content is included in these 2 SuperCut? I've taken all 16 chapters of The Mandalorian and created 2 feature film cuts, one for each season, using the same techniques I used to edit the Clone Wars and Rebels Film Cuts. I initially didn't really feel a need or motivation to make these, but several members of the community have been asking me for it, and I was made aware of the fact that no one has done a major release of season 2 content, so here we are.
